Notable News - 4 things ✅:

1. Brooklyn Mirage only hires amateur project managers - the supposed world-class (and probably, soon to be) infamous venue’s renovations are now being pushed back, pending inspection approvals. This means that a slew of shows have already been affected. Only time will tell if all the high flying updates like enhanced sound systems, additional dance floors, and a state-of-the-art 3,000 LED panel screen will have partygoers experience a “set design that will blow you away.”

   

2. Stop sleeping on Spotify or should I say “snooze” - because they’re testing out a new feature that allows users to temporarily hide a song from a playlist and recommendations for 30 days. I know I can get sick of some songs after milking the mommy out of them on repeat—even though I don’t want them removed them from a playlist. This temporary “snooze” button may come in handy for a guy like me. Brb, I need to go mommy milk a few more tracks.

   

3. Canadian independent label powerhouse Monstercat has gone feral - acquired by Create Music Group, the last 15 years has seen Monstercat grow into a highly influential EDM label with it’s own defining sound. More than just a place for releasing music, the label also has deep ties to the gaming world with it’s massive sync licensing and partnerships with companies like, Rocket League, Beat Saber, Fortnite, and Roblox. Fun fact, Monstercat boasts over 200 million monthly streams. No wonder Create is giving them an extra $50 million in investments over the next 2 years. Sheeeesh.

   

4. Mochakk may have been a paramedic before he became a DJ - during one of his shows in Italy, he noticed a man was unresponsive in the crowd. The Brazilian DJ shut off the music and waved for help after seeing that “no one was doing anything.” Not gonna lie, pretty great move here by Mochakk—you gotta give him credit for this one. Even he said on IG afterwards, “I’m not gonna keep playing knowing someone is potentially hurt in the middle of a packed crowd, people can die in these scenarios.”
