Oh hey, how are ya - itās Fourth Co.
Everyday, about 150,000 new songs are released to the world.
That means, thereās been over 18 tracks released since Rekordbox worked the way itās supposed to.
Only a handful of those deserve your attention, so letās pitter patterā¦
***ā ļøBut first - an important house keeping updateā ļø***
Iāve been writing this newsletter for 11 months now and reached my free subscriber 2,500 limit 4 weeks ago. With a 33% open rate, thatās about 830 people (which is crazy) but hereās the problem...
Above 2,500 subs and I have to start paying a decent amount just to keep this email going - and unfortunately for me, I barely make shit from the ads in this email, let alone my artist career as whole (but thatās a different rant for another discussion lol).
Now hereās my ask to you, if you wish to no longer receive these emails, PLEASE UNSUBSCRIBE so I can continue to add the new people (thereās 228 new people pending).
Iām not currently in the business of paying to write emails so please help me out. And any other feedback is always welcomed!
Notable News - 4 things ā :
- Move over Rekordbox, Native Instruments drops its new Traktor MX2 - marketed as a club ready controller, I always thought of Traktor as the Android to Pioneer/AlphaThetaās Apple. NI Traktor software has always felt superior to me (I started on it and spent 4 years loving it before being forced over to Rekordbox because of the whole āindustry standardā club gear bs). The Apple vs Android analogy also works because Pioneer has always had sturdy, metal, long last physical gear whereas Traktor is plastic, weirdly designed, and prone to breaking down. Even the picture of the new MX2 looks like an outdated AI image prompt for a grainy 2009 futuristic looking controller.
- Seth Troxler seeks help after 12,000 vinyl record collection ruined in Ibiza floods - the craziest thing to me is that I carry literally every single song I own on my USB at all times and itās only half of Sethās collection. I havenāt DJād on a laptop in 7 years (because I treat my USB like an open format laptop) - sue me! Anyway, Stroxler has asked people for help cleaning and repairing the vinyls, offering to pay them $10/hour which has now sparked a new debate with people complaining online about that being a piss poor hourly rate.
- Brooklyn Mirage officially plans to be demolished - in a dumpster fire of a story that Iāve been tracking for months, the tragic end to the Mirage looks to finally be here. Somebody online said this opens up the opportunity for the greatest Spirit of Halloween the world has ever seen. If true, the people could throw one last illegal rave (no need for all the bells and whistles), which by the way, is how this now infamous defunct venue got its start.
- Beatport launches live ticketing platform - this couldnāt be any better news for promoters, artists, and labels to be able to sell tickets from directly within the largest dance music marketplace. For anybody who doesnāt know, Beatport is like the iTunes for DJs and dance music. This truly feel like a great direction for DJs to connect directly with fans, earn some money in the process, and make everyone a little happier. Well maybe not Ticketmaster and the other ticketed conglomerates, but cāest la vie folks.

Have you heard (pun intended)⦠Martin Garrix and Alesso both suffer from significant hearing loss (aka Tinnitus).
The solution: buy some half decent ear plugs and save your hearing!
