Carpe That DM 😈 - People said they can't distinguish AI from human made music anymore, and here's why...

Oh hey, how are ya - it’s Fourth Co.

Everyday, about 150,000 new songs are released to the world.

That means, there’s been over 60,000,000 tracks released since I started my ā€œHouse music to impress the booth bunniesā€ Spotify playlist which is currently sitting at 3,815 followers.

Only a handful of those deserve your attention, so let’s pitter patter…

Steal This - my most played song this week (probablyšŸ‘‡):

Notable News - 4 things āœ…:

  1. Spotify buys the sample reference website ā€˜WhoSampled’ - as Spotify rolls out its new SongDNA feature which will show all the samples and covers of individuals songs within the streaming app. This new feature will expand the credits section of each song which has always been a place for nerds like me to geek out on. Back in my university days, there were many nights where I'd fall asleep on the ā€œSix Degreesā€ tab of WhoSampled to see if I could find two artists that were actually six degrees of separation apart. It was hard.

  2. Viral song ā€œI Runā€ gets removed from Spotify and social media apps after discovering it's AI - now this song was actually viral, amassing around 15 million streams on Spotify before its demise. The reason for the takedown is apparently because the vocals, made by SUNO, were accused of impersonating a known artist. Who that artist is, I couldn't tell you. Most pop vocals all sound the same to me. I think this is stupid. People genuinely enjoy the song (I thought it was fucking annoying). But goes to show you a good song can hit for people whether it was AI made or not).

  3. AI music platform Suno successfully raises $250 million from Silicon investors - catapolting its valuation to $2.45 billion, despite facing high-stakes copyright lawsuits from major record labels like Sony, Universal, and Warner Music Group. Apparently earning $200 million in annual revenue, this new influx of cash will inject Suno with a significant war chest to litigate its major lawsuit claims that it used copyrighted music to train its AI models. It obviously did, that's how all knowledge is built. By learning and training from prexisting knowledge. Only time will tell what happens. But in the meantime, money talks.

  4. Facebook ā€˜Andrenomeda’ update drops major overhaul of its ad delivery platform with AI-driven mindset - shifting focus from manual audience targeting to large scale creative testing, advertisers must now simplify campaigns and use much broader targeting, giving the AI more room to work its own magic. Meta recommends producing a high volume of creative assets, in the past 3 assets was good enough, now it recommends 40 different pieces. If you market music, you know this a major shift from micro targeted audiences. Happy hunting and good luck with your ads everyone!

Quaint Quote of the Week āœļø:

ā€œDaniel Ek on how he combined his two passions which lead to the founding of Spotifyā€

Need help preventing a hangover after a late night Bender?

We’ve all been there—the morning after a night out, when the fun catches up, and the hangiexty sets in. Your head’s in a boxing match and your stomach’s swirling around like a hot jacuzzi. You told yourself just ā€œ1 drink tonightā€ and all of the sudden you’re in some random kitchen at 4am šŸ’€

Hangover’s hit hard… and they hit even harder when you get older. So why are you still doing NOTHING about it??

The cure: that’s where the Bender Extender comes inšŸ‘‡

Your hangover’s worst enemy: it’s packed with natural liver loving vitamins & minerals, Mother Earth’s green ingredients, and activated charcoal to accelerate the detoxification process of removing alcohol’s deadly toxins from your body.

This stuff will literally revive you, so act wisely!

⚔Best way to take the Bender Extender:

  1. Take both capsules with a cup of water

  2. Chug some water after boozing it all night

  3. Wake up feeling pretty damn good

  4. Go on with your day... or be a degenerate like me and extend your bender
