That means, there’s been over 664,350,000+ tracks released since Drake was shot in the spine as wheelchair Jimmy on Degrassi.

Only a handful of those songs deserve your attention, so let’s pitter patter…

Steal This - my most played SECRET song this week (probably):

Why it gets me going - I don’t think anyone can deny this song being a bop. No matter who you are, I’d bet $4 you’d start tapping your foot or nodding your head. For any of you DJs out there, this has been a secret club tool for me to spice up the crowd of any age whenever I want to flood the dance floor with fruity, feel good vibes.

Notable News - 4 things:

1. Subtle flex but Daft Punk has an anime movie - “Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem” is going to be playing in theatres for 1 night only. Originally released in 2003 (who knew - not me!), it paired with the visuals on their iconic 2nd album Discovery, associated closely with their timeless “One More Time” single - ever heard of it? Screening of the remastered 4k film will happen on December 12th, 2024 in 800 theatres across 40+ countries. Who wants to rally with me and pay for the popcorn?

2. Instagram and Spotify secretly got married without telling anyone - you can now save songs from within Insta reels directly into Spotify with a simple click of a button. If you’re deathly addicted to Insta like me and love finding new music while doom scrolling beyond repair, then this little hidden new feature is going to come in clutch. Here’s a snapshot on how to do it:

3. Just announced! - the 2025 Electronic Dance Music Awards will be hosted at the Eden Roc Miami during Miami Music Week. This past year at the EDMAs, thanks to rising talent, Houston-based Techno artist Athenz, I was able to brush shoulders and meet with some of the biggest names in dance music like Deadmau5, Kaskade, David Guetta, Mark Knight, Mau P, Cloonee, Gryffin, Austin Kramer, and tons more - and yes it was hype as hell!

4. Did Skrillex forget his Soundcloud password? - it looks like his now-defunct OSWLA-controlled media platform NEST HQ deleted (or perhaps accidentally removed 👀) all of their releases. Because why not? I’m not that big of a wubs guys so truthfully I don’t really care… but, this does remind me years ago when Deadmau5 randomly uploaded over 250 songs to Soundcloud. Then, in classic Joel fashion, quickly changed his mind, rescinded his gift to us, basically told everybody to go off themselves, and removed every last one of those songs. Yay!
