Notable News - 4 things ✅:

1. It’s official, anybody and everybody can become a DJ now - Rekordbox just released its latest update allowing users to freely DJ with their Spotify and Apple Music accounts, directly within Rekordbox. Over the last 10+ years, anytime somebody wanted me to teach them how to DJ, 99% of them would give up the moment I told them they had to physically download their music. Now that barrier to entry no longer exists. Open the floodgates!

   

2. Mike Williams and manager fight off crazed Canadian man in DJ booth - something I’ve dreamed of for years, having a dude come into the booth causing mayhem, only for my older bro and I to be given the green light by security to unleash and protect the show at all costs. The video is pretty outrageous, buddy looked like he unlocked 10% of Cocaine Bear rage power and completely ruins the vibe for everybody.

   

3. Chicago House legend Ron Carroll sadly passes away at age 57 - truly one of the last few surviving house music pioneers still living in Chicago, the city has been shocked by his passing. His voice and sound helped define the soulful early and current sound of house from Chicago and beyond. I met him a few times and he truly was a kind hearted, no ego man. Some of my friends had upcoming collaborations with him. Go search up some of music on Spotify and you probably had no idea he did vocals on some iconic house tracks. Rest in Peace, Ron 💜

   

4. DirtyBird fest goers were played dirty by a sketchy promoter - party goers at DirtyBird CampINN were forced to pay an additional $1,000 weeks later for rooms they already paid for. People felt scammed with their personal credit cards being used to make up for the shady ponzi hotel booking scheme the promoter, Music Festival Trips, tried to pull. The worst part, this same promotion company is selling tickets and rooms for another event at the same hotel this weekend… even the hotel said they will NOT be hosting guests for the event. Somebody call the Five-0 right now!
