Carpe That DM 😈 - Females are getting feral for this "Girls Only Rave," Spotify's "Artists to Watch 2025" is released, Fisher announces residency at new hyperclub, and much more...

Oh hey, how are ya - it’s Fourth Co.

Everyday, about 150,000 new songs are released to the world.

That means, there’s been over 4,650,000 tracks released since we kicked off the new year.

Only a handful of those deserve your attention, so let’s pitter patter…

Steal This - my most played song this week (probablyšŸ‘‡):

Why it gets me going - I used to listen to this song on repeat back when I first moved to Chicago circa 2018. I stumbled on it again recently while at the gym. I just found out the vocalist is white… who knew… not me apparently. Anyway, this track is peak funk, soul, and groovy electronic vibes. It’s hard to not want to tap your foot along, very flavourful and original to my ears.

Notable News - 4 things:

  1. If you’re a girl, get feral for this ā€œAll Girl Raveā€ tour - because, yes apparently no boys are allowed at this party. The event company/brand ā€˜Sorry Papi’ have been throwing these girls only events across 45 cities, advertised as a ā€œsafe space for the girlies only.ā€œ

  2. Spotify releases its ā€œArtists to Watch 2025ā€ list - featuring three dance artists that aren’t mainstream but have definitely carved out a lane within their own respective sounds. One of the artists I’ve never heard before and upon listening to her music, she sounds like electronic pop not, necessarily dance so I don’t care to cover her. The other two are Barry Can’t Swim (essential track: ā€œStill Ridingā€) and PAWSA (essential track: ā€œDirty Cash (Money Talks)ā€)

  3. Fisher & Carl Cox announce Ibiza residencies at ā€œUNVRSā€ - the world’s first hyperclub, pronounced ā€œuniverse,ā€ Fisher has signed on for 17 Thursdays, whereas Carl Cox will play every Sunday. Advertised as ā€œa new tank for the fish,ā€ I have no idea what a hyperclub is, but I’ll found out in June when this bad boy opens up and all those aggregated EDM instagram accounts showcase the action

  1. Levity performed a last minute free popup show on Chicago’s Navy Pier - and truthfully it was a little frustrating for me because I also throw a free popup show every Thursday. Organized under the ā€œDusk Dance Musicā€ brand with my fellow Chicago DJ & Producer, Max Wagner (instagram.com/waxmagner), it’s hard enough organizing, booking DJs, getting sponsorships, and promoting the shit out of your own shows to get people to show up.

Quaint Quote of the Week:

ā€œFred Again.. on his early years of recording classical piano pieces on his aunt’s tape recorderā€
